STATEMENT of the Civic Movement “Building Trust” regarding the process of promoting the administrative-territorial reform in the Republic of Moldova

The Civic Movement “Building Trust” expresses certain concerns regarding the manner in which the administrative-territorial reform process is being promoted in the Republic of Moldova.

In this context, the Movement believes that a reform of such scale should be based on transparency, meaningful consultation with citizens and local public authorities, respect for local autonomy, credible impact assessments, clear safeguards for communities, and independent civic monitoring mechanisms.

The Movement supports the modernization of public administration and advocates for a reform carried out in accordance with European principles, through democratic processes, and in partnership with citizens and local public authorities.
